About

Dream Work and Psychotherapy.

I am a Doctoral Candidate in Clinical Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute, and am working towards licensure as a Clinical Psychologist in the State of Washington. To be a Doctoral Candidate means that I have completed all of my required course work, passed my exams, and have an approved dissertation project. My dissertation explores experiences of fragmentation in trauma and the process of healing those wounds in adulthood. I am exploring this material from mythic, psychoanalytic, and archetypal perspectives. Currently, I have completed my pre-doctoral training hours and am working on my hours for licensing as a Clinical Psychologist. I am a Registered Counselor in the state of Washington and have a private practice in the north end of Seattle. Please visit my web site at BarbTurner.com for more information on my practice and my orientation to depth psychology.

As well as psychotherapy, I offer dream work services to those who are interested. I am available for small group work as well as individual sessions. I work from a depth oriented perspective that honors the wisdom of dreams and values their ability to help us move forward in life, even if at first their value may not be evident. I trained for two years with Steven Aizenstat in his DreamTending intensives, and have attended workshops, trainings, and conferences with a number of leaders in the field of dream and the mythic psyche, including but not limited to James Hillman, Robert Moss, Jeremy Taylor, Peter Kingsley, Patricia Garfield, Michael Meade, Robert Bosnak, as well as others. I have a Masters in Mythological Studies and Depth Psychology, also from Pacifica.

I bring over two and a half decades of experience in human services, psychology, and the arts to my practice.

I’m still learning how to use this program, so until I’ve got it mastered, there may be a few bugs. Hopefully the glitches in this site will be resolved shortly!

Thanks for your interest! I look forward to hearing from you.
